Waffle Irons are Appliances in the kitchen which are used to bake waffles. Most of the times, they consist of two metal plates, which are molded in order to create a certain pattern. When the irons are heated, the batter or dough will be being poured into it and afterwards being baked.

History of the waffle and waffle iron
The waffle, as we know it today, fluffy and crisp at the same time didn’t used to be like that in the beginnen. The origin is somewhere in the 14th century when wafers were sold by socalled waferers. Those wafers were baked between wafer irons, which were connected by a hinge. The Irons were tied to wooden handels which were used to flip the wafer iron over a fire. The outcome was a very crisp thin cake which was made from oats and barley.

Today we know all kinds of different waffles:
